Criterion Cover for Shintaro Katsu’s “Zatoichi in Desperation” Zatoichi has a strong noble legacy in the heart of japanese cinema. I have been a loyal fan of the series for the better part of a decade. Not only has it changed the way I treat blind people; you never know if they are hiding a cane sword. But I feel the character of Zatoichi is one of the greatest to grace cinema ever.  Zatoichi in Desperation was directed by the man himself Shintaro Katsu, this is the 24th entry into the series and one of the last before the TV Show got started. I’d love to see the entire series get the criterion make over into a gigantic Blu-ray set with some decent extras, interviews and commentary tracks by some true Zatoichi fans. That won’t happen any time soon, But for now here’s a little cover design, I am hoping to work on some more covers down the line.
